How Jamf Uses Claude to Automate Workflows Across 16 Departments
Jamf deployed Claude Enterprise across 16 departments, then built interactive workflow skills using Claude Cowork that transformed manual spreadsheet-based processes into guided, conversational experiences. Performance reviews that previously required months of effort are now built in under 45 minutes, and non-engineering teams independently create custom data dashboards.

Full Story
Jamf, a leading Apple device management software company, faced a common enterprise challenge: structured workflows like performance reviews and vendor approvals relied heavily on spreadsheets and checklists that were cumbersome to complete, inconsistent across teams, and difficult to scale. The manual nature of these processes created friction that slowed operations and reduced the quality of outcomes.
The engineering team deployed Claude Enterprise company-wide and began experimenting with Claude Cowork to build interactive skill-based workflows. Rather than simply using Claude as a chat assistant, the team discovered they could encode complex institutional processes directly into Claude-powered skills that guide users step by step.
The first major skill transformed the performance review process. A seven-competency spreadsheet was converted into a personalized conversational workflow that filters questions by role and level, probes for concrete examples using follow-up questions, integrates Jira ticket data as contextual reference, tracks progress visually, and generates structured evaluation summaries with development plans. The entire skill was built in under 45 minutes—a process that a comparable project had previously required three months and a full team to accomplish.
A vendor review skill followed, automating preliminary research and guiding reviewers through a 12-question approval process. Across 16 departments, non-technical staff now independently build custom data analyses and dashboards without requiring engineering or BI tool support.
Perhaps most surprisingly, adoption was driven primarily by business teams rather than engineers. The speed of development, combined with the accessibility of conversational interfaces, meant that departments across the organization could quickly identify their own workflow problems and build solutions autonomously.
