What Leaders Say

Writer is purpose-built rather than just a chat app. It has both well-designed prebuilt apps for popular use cases to enable quick adoption and ability to build custom apps for our unique use cases. The entire WRITER platform, including AI Studio and Knowledge Graph, helps us achieve scale while maintaining our high-quality bar.

Marino Fresch, VP of Marketing, Sprout Social

Our ability to create high-quality SEO content at scale was limited by the bandwidth of our in-house SEO team. With WRITER, we’ve been able to speed up the production of SEO content by 68%. Our SEO experts spend less time on tedious tasks and more time on strategic work that only they can do.

Full Story

Sprout Social provides social media management and analytics software to more than 30,000 brands worldwide. For its marketing team, staying ahead of a fast-moving competitive landscape requires producing high volumes of precise, on-brand content — from SEO assets to product messaging to sales outreach materials. As AI became a clear force in how marketing teams work, Sprout Social’s VP of Marketing and Director of Revenue Marketing Program Management set out to build a serious internal AI strategy, not just adopt a chat tool.

Before Writer, the in-house SEO team spent up to eight hours crafting each brief in enough detail for freelancers to produce usable drafts. Even then, the output typically required substantial revision before it met Sprout Social’s quality bar. The team’s ability to scale content was constrained by this manual bottleneck, and responding quickly to market shifts — like a competitor exiting the space — was nearly impossible at the speed required.

After evaluating multiple generative AI platforms, Sprout Social selected Writer for its security controls, customizability, and the combination of prebuilt apps with the ability to build custom ones via AI Studio. The team built custom AI applications for SEO brief generation, product messaging, campaign assets, and release notes. They loaded key reports and industry data into Writer Knowledge Graph to create a central, queryable internal repository that stays current. Style guides were embedded directly into the workflow so freelancers and internal contributors produced consistent output by default.

The SEO workflow transformation was the most measurable result: production time dropped 68%, and when a competitor shut down and left a gap in the market, Sprout Social used Writer to produce a targeted volume of competitor-alternative content fast enough to rank in the top three for relevant searches — a result that would not have been achievable at manual speed. Writer adoption spread beyond marketing into sales, where the team uses it to improve outreach quality and consistency.

Sprout Social continues to expand Writer across functions, partnering with the Writer customer success team for training, workshops, and ongoing enablement. The deployment reflects a broader shift in how software companies are treating AI — not as a productivity shortcut, but as infrastructure for scaling expertise across teams.
